Aster Carousel Blend

Aster Carousel Blend is a compact but colourful mix that’s perfect for edging borders or filling out pots. It’s packed with large, daisy-like flowers in shades of red, pink, purple, and white, blooming right through summer into autumn. Despite its neat size, it’s a tough little plant — great for exposed spots — and the blooms are wilt-resistant too, so your display keeps looking fresh.

SOW
You’ve got two options:

Start seeds indoors in March to April using pots, modules or seed trays filled with seed compost. Lightly cover with perlite or vermiculite, pop them in a clear plastic bag, and keep them warm—around 18°C works well. They should start to sprout in 1–2 weeks. Once they do, take off the bag and let them grow on.

Or, if you'd rather keep things simple, sow them directly outside in May or June where you want them to flower. Just make shallow drills, drop in the seeds, and cover lightly with soil.

GROW
If you started them indoors, harden them off once they’re a decent size and plant them out after the last frost. Space them about 10cm apart—they don’t mind being close. They love full sun, so give them a bright spot.

If you sowed straight outdoors, just thin the seedlings once they’re up, aiming for that same 10cm spacing.
