Zinnia Oklahoma is a reliable favourite with bright, rounded blooms in a cheerful mix of colours—from soft whites and yellows to vibrant pinks and scarlets. The flowers are mostly fully double, with some semi-doubles in the mix, and they hold up well both in the garden and in a vase. It’s a top performer for late summer colour and ideal for cutting. RHS Award of Garden Merit.

SOW
Sow in trays or pots from March to April. Cover seeds lightly with compost, perlite or vermiculite, and keep at around 18°C. Germination usually takes 1–2 weeks. Once seedlings are big enough to handle, pot them on—take care to minimise root disturbance. Or, from May/June, sow thinly direct into a sunny bed after the last frost.
GROW
Harden off indoor-raised plants before planting out at about 30-45cm apart in rich soil and full sun. Thin out direct-sown seedlings as they grow. Zinnias love warmth and good soil—and will reward you with bold blooms right through summer.
ENJOY
Perfect for cutting – long-lasting in a vase and blooming for weeks outdoors too. Their tidy, uniform shape makes arranging easy, and they’re just as happy brightening up beds and borders as they are in a jug on the kitchen table.
