Superb flavoured heirloom, Pantano Romanesco is everything that an Italian tomato should be – the thick pulp is ideal for sauces and the rich complex flavour is outstanding both when cooked and when sliced for salads… enjoy the best of both worlds and grill for tomato on toast!
Indeterminate
Price for 12 seeds
SOW: start about 6-8 weeks before the last frost is expected sowing in modules, seed depth 5mm, cover & put on a warm windowsill. Transplant to pots when large enough to handle, grow on. Harden off and plant after frost danger has passed.
GROW: plant in the greenhouse or in a sunny sheltered part of your garden. For the best flavour keep soil evenly damp (don’t over-water or overfeed). This is an indeterminate, it will need supporting. It will bloom, set new fruit & ripen fruit all at the same time throughout the season. The fruits are heavy any may also need support or limit the number of trusses
ENJOY: sliced for salads, grilled (on toast) or made into fab sauce.
