Bloody Butcher is an unusual potato leafed heirloom with a full, rich, mouth-watering flavour. Alongside that flavour are deep red fruits that vary in size from cherry up to large although most are medium salad sized. It is also early into fruit and copes well outdoors and with cooler weather. Indeterminate.
SOW: we start ours about 6-8 weeks before the last frost is expected sowing in modules (cover & put on a windowsill). We transplant to pots when large enough to handle and grow on until ready to harden off & plant after frost danger has passed.
GROW: Bloody Butcher copes well outdoors and with cooler weather or plant in the greenhouse. For the best flavour keep soil evenly damp and don’t overfeed. This potato leafed variety is indeterminate and may need supporting. It will bloom, set new fruit and ripen fruit all at the same time throughout the season.
EAT & ENJOY: fabulous old-fashioned flavour, the fruit range from cherry to large size.
