Glaskins Perpetual has long tasty stems that are bright red. Start seeds in February to April. This is an early maturing variety and establishes quickly allowing you to take a light cut in the first spring after sowing. This will start your harvesting season.
SOW: between February & April, one or two seeds in each small pot, seed depth 10-20mm, and keep indoors until they have sprouted. Pot on into individual medium sized pots when large enough to handle. Harden off then plant out the strongest plants in their permanent position in June/July at least 30 cm apart.
GROW: nurture them – keep them well watered and mulch to retain moisture. Don’t be tempted to eat any yet! Wait until the plants are big and strong enough before carefully picking a few stems from each next year.
ENJOY: Glaskins Perpetual is an early season variety. Cut the stems into 2-3cm pieces & poach, bake or stew
