Karina is fabulously sweet & very productive. This variety does well from early spring sowings and can crop through the summer, even as the conditions become drier. The strong, vigorous plants grow 55-75cm tall with lots of plump pods containing 8-10 lovely peas.  An outstanding 1st early pea

This variety is part of our naturally nurtured range, the seed comes from an organic source

SOW

For the earliest of crops sow in February under protection (cloches, poly tunnel or unheated greenhouse).  Seed depth 30-50mm.  Sow outdoors from March through to May.  For successional cropping sow every 10-14 days (11-14 weeks to cropping).

GROW

If pot sown, harden off before planting out at about 12cm apart each way.  Peas like moisture and will tolerate light shade.  You should only need to water in dry summers, not too much while they are young but a little more once they start to flower.  Pick regularly to encourage more growth.

ENJOY

Attractive dark green pods, each containing 8-10 lovely tasting peas.  If you haven’t already eaten them all by the time you reach the kitchen then pop your fresh podded peas in some boiling water for no more than two minutes.
