Italiko rosso – featuring bright red stems and ribs and dark green serrated leaves this heirloom is a stunner. The flavour balances well when you are using stronger ingredients such as anchovies, mackerel, sharp cheese & sun-dried toms. And this is a true baby leaf with colour and flavour from 5cm tall and repeated cutting. 100 seeds.
Rossa di Treviso – with long pointed leaves which turn redder in the colder months. This variety can be forced for chicons but its not essential by any means. One treat not to be missed is braising small heads whole in butter! 40 seeds
Variegata Di Castelfranco – this is a beautiful variety with an outstanding flavour and a long season. Green leaves are spotted and splashed with red. Shred for delicious green salads right through from late summer to winter, the colour and flavour will add some zing, or braise small whole heads in butter. Cooking will produce a milder flavour. 40 seeds.
