Mushroom Red have hot (50,000-150,000 Scoville) and rich flavoured really funky fruits. Some describe them as upside down mushrooms, others as resembling patty pan squashes, I think they look like weird bell peppers but make no mistake these have heat! Sturdy productive plants, compact and suitable for growing in pots. Definitely a talking point. Price for 10 seeds
SOW: from April to end of May, indoors in a warm soil in trays or modules barely covering the seeds as they need light to germinate.
GROW: when they reach the 2/3 leaf stage they can be planted into a greenhouse or hardened off and put outside in a warm sheltered spot. These sturdy productive plants are compact and suitable for growing in pots on the windowsill or patio or plant them in the soil or a grow bag.
EAT: try these stuffed with cream cheese or simply slice for spice in your food
