They are also well worth including in a cutting garden, as stems can last up to ten days in a vase. Germination usually takes 10-21 days. When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into pots or trays and grow on at about 15C. Pinch out when they have six pairs of leaves to encourage bushier growth. Seeds sown in autumn can be overwintered under glass and planted out the following spring. \u003cbr\u003eGROW: harden off before planting out after all risk of frost is over.  Space plants 25cm apart. Cut back the flowering stems after flowering to encourage new growth and a second flush. These can handle a light frost.
