Tomato Sweet Aperitif

Sweet Aperitif perfectly describes these bite size cherry toms: fabulous flavour combining high levels of sugar and acid which give a sweet zingy burst in every bite.  This variety holds an AGM, it often tops taste tests, and its Brix rating is on a par with Sungold. Plants can yield hundreds of these super fruits, measuring in the kilos, simply masses of gorgeousness through to October.

SOW: about 6-8 weeks before the last frost is expected, sow 1.5mm deep in modules (cover or put on a windowsill).  Transplant to pots when large enough to handle and grow on until frost danger has passed. 

GROW: harden off & plant out in a sunny part of your garden or a greenhouse.  Plant them below the soil level from their pots and new roots will emerge to help feed your plants  For the best flavour keep soil evenly damp, slightly on the dry side, & don’t overfeed.  Sweet Aperitif is indeterminate, growing tall & needing support as it blooms, sets new fruit and ripens fruit through to October. 

ENJOY: hundreds of these super fruits, measuring in the kilos, simply masses of gorgeousness.  Plants that are kept on the slightly dry side and not overfed put their energy into the fruit – this can result in even more flavour particularly later in the season – there can be variations even on the same plant simply from the amount of sunlight getting to the fruits or how sheltered they are from cooling breezes.  These are nothing like the bland fruits from the shops!
