Meet Baron von Solemacher and enjoy incredible sweet and aromatic fruits.  This early fruiting heirloom variety was first sold almost 90 years ago.  It is a perennial, compact, bushy little plant – think pots, containers, hanging baskets or as an edging - fruiting abundantly from late spring to Autumn.

Price for 50 seeds

SOW: in autumn or spring… cold stratification is an option for germination - pop the seeds in the fridge for about 1-2 weeks & then let them warm slowly before sowing in a seed tray. Barely cover the tiny seeds with finely sieved compost or sharp sand. Keep at 20°C until germination (15-30 days), either on a warm windowsill or in a propagator, do not let them dry out.  Prick out when large enough & grow on in individual pots.

GROW: harden off before planting out. They like rich moisture-retaining soil, sun or part-shade, water in dry weather.  Pinch off the first flowers to encourage good roots.  Use grit round your plants or raise them up in pots or hanging baskets to keep unwelcome critters away.

EAT: sweet and succulent, best eaten straight from the plant!
