Norli is a French Mangetout type with small dark green pods which have an excellent flavour. It grows to 50cm and is a semi-bush habit that likes a little support.  Pretty pure white flowers followed by the fresh green pods - keep picking to keep the plants producing. Norli has been given an AGM which reflects the qualities a gardener can expect.

This is part of our naturally nurtured range, seed comes from an organic source

SOW:  from March to June.  We grow ours in pots to give them a fighting chance against the mice.  Sowing in guttering to be slid into place has become popular.  They can also be sown in situ.

GROW: pot grown plants need to be hardened off before planting out.   Peas like moisture and will tolerate light shade.  Water in dry summers.  Norli grows to about 50cm tall, it has a semi-bush habit and likes a little support.  Harvest the pods once they reach 5cm – leave them for longer and they will start to swell and loose the sweetness they are renowned for.  Picking regularly encourages the plants to produce more pods.

EAT: mangetout is always at its best fresh from the garden – lightly steam or serve raw for a crunchy sweet taste in a salad. Although we have frozen mangetout we prefer to eat them fresh and soon after picking for the finest flavour.
