Musona White Italian has a lovely flavour plus it is one of the most versatile of onions. It can be started early (January to March), sown again mid-April to May whilst a sowing in mid-August-September will overwinter for the earliest spring crops. On top of all that choice you can also pull early and use as a salad (spring) onion, as needed through July & August or let it grow to maturity for the main harvest in early autumn
Price for 60 seeds
This variety is part of our naturally nurtured range, the seed comes from an organic source
SOW: seed depth 10mm with the earliest sowings (Jan-Mar) in modules for transplanting. Sowing mid-April or May can be direct in soil warmed under cloches as cold soil upsets germination. For autumn: space seed 3-5cm apart in September (mid-Aug in cooler areas).
GROW: wait for them to reach about 15cm tall, harden off and plant out from end of April: 7-10cm apart for medium bulbs or 15cm for larger bulbs. Keep well-watered as the bulb swells. Autumn sown can be thinned in spring or not if pulling as salad onions
EAT: harvest & enjoy at the size you want!
