This variety is part of our naturally nurtured range, the seed comes from an organic source
SOW: these are best sown in April or May: we sow our leeks 5-10mm deep in modules or seed trays which makes it easier to separate them when transplanting.
GROW: when they are large enough (about 15-20cm tall), plant out 1 leek per 10-15cm deep hole made with a dibber or stick. Water the leek into the hole and let the soil wash in but try not to get soil in between the leaves, sounds fiddly but leeks are worth the effort. If it is dry after planting water gently every day, otherwise just leave them to grow!
EAT: these tall plants are easy to find in the winter garden and are both succulent and tasty as a veg on the side or part of a dish.
