SOW: a little seed 15mm deep every 2-3 weeks from mid-March through to July to enjoy a succession of colourful lettuces. Start in modules & transplant or sow direct into watered drills in your salad patch. If sowing seeds during hot weather, place the seed packet in the fridge overnight and sow the next day. This cooling down of the seeds will help improve germination.
GROW: plant out when large enough to do so aiming for 30cm apart. Keep well-watered in hot dry weather.
EAT: lettuce is one of the few vegetables that’s immune to preservation! You can’t freeze it, bottle it, dry it or pickle it. Just eat & enjoy it fresh!
