Perpetual Spinach is really a leaf beet (chard). It is very popular: giving you all that spinach flavour without bolting and is, pretty much, trouble free and easy. It can be used for summer and autumn production as a ‘cut and come again’ crop. It is possible to over winter it and use for a second season. For the best of all flavour cook it as soon as possible after cutting. Price for 40 seeds
SOW & GROW: sow several times for the freshest leaves between February & September! In February/March sow with protection to harvest late spring early summer. Sow March to May outside for cropping summer onwards (may go through the winter). Sow July and August for small fresh leaves from the winter onwards. Sow under cover in August and September to give yourself cut-and-come-again cropping through the winter.
EAT: for the best of all flavour cut it and cook it as soon as possible in the minimum of water. OR enjoy as a tasty salad leaf; we often use it as a cut-and-come-again.
