Poinsett produces plump and plentiful fruits (15-20cm long) that are full of flavour, smooth skinned, and perfect for all your cucumber needs. The plants are vigorous, and a trellis or frame will save space and hanging fruit are straighter and easier to pick. Alternatively, they are happy to ramble on the ground just try not to step on the vine as you reach for the fruits. SOW: start seeds inside in April or early May at about 1cm deep in individual pots, keep moist (not waterlogged) and warm, ready to start to harden off (over a couple of weeks) once they have 2/3 leaves.
