D’Orlanda is a larger leaf variety from Italy. Its tender leaves are invaluable for use in salads all year round.

Price for 50 seeds

This variety is part of our naturally nurtured range, the seed comes from an organic source

SOW:  at almost any time of the year, best sown after midsummer through to early spring.  Sow under cover in late-winter, early-spring and autumn, at other times sow outside.  We normally sow in situ as the plants are small.

GROW:  this is very easy and generally a trouble-free crop.  Harvest after about 12 weeks.  You can cut the whole head and leave the plant to resprout (usually only once) or pick individual leaves as you need them – they do wilt quite quickly so we find it best to pick as needed.

EAT: mild flavour, super in salads and a good compliment to winter salad flavours.  The flowers are also edible.
