Machu Pichu has rich and smoky flavour tones are key to the appeal of this variety.  Look out for the plentiful dark green & slightly wrinkled fruits that mature to an opulent chestnut brown as the heat level reaches a warm 10,000-15,000SHU.  If that wasn’t enough to tempt you then these fruits are fabulous fresh but dry well for turning into fab chilli powder.  If grown in containers the plants crop early and stay compact but grown with more space and goodness at their roots the plants will be much larger, even more productive although later to mature.

So much to love, why not try them yourself?  Price for 10 seeds

SOW: from February to May, indoors in warm soil barely covering the seeds as they need light to germinate.  At the 2/3 leaf stage pot up to 7cm pots and grow on.  At 10cm tall pot up to 25cm pots or growbags

GROW: wait until June before moving plants outside (harden off first) to a sunny, sheltered position or grow them in the greenhouse/conservatory. Allow the surface to dry between waterings, after the first flowers appear, feed weekly.  Pinching out the growing tip will encourage a bushier plant.
