Demon Red may be small in stature, but it packs a mighty punch! The chillies, 2-3cm long & upwards pointing, reach a hot 30000-50000 on the Scoville scale. The chillies appear in profusion while the plants are compact (no more than 35cm tall) which makes them an ideal choice for a pot on the windowsill or for filling a tub in a conservatory or on a patio.
Price for 10 seeds
SOW: from mid-April to end of May, indoors in a warm soil in trays or modules barely covering the seeds as they need light to germinate.
GROW: when they reach the 2/3 leaf stage they can be planted. To grow on a windowsill chose 12cm pots or plant several plants in a tub. They would also be happy in a growbag (room for about 5 plants). Demon Red will ripen from green through orange to red, getting hotter all the time.
EAT: at 30000-50000 on the scoville scale these little chillies pack a might punch of heat. They should be ready from August, and you can enjoy them fresh or perhaps try drying them.
HOT chillies can be started early, with the right conditions. Demon Red can be sown as early as December or follow the instructions below if you cannot provide the warm winter conditions. Plants can also overwinter for fruitingthe following year with care and warmth.
