SOW: at no more than 10mm deep from April to June. Dig the soil thoroughly & sow sparingly to avoid the need for too much thinning. For the show bench try using very deep pots filled with a finely sieved soil & sharp sand mix. Very serious growers bore holes into sand & back fill with their preferred growing medium
GROW: in the garden keep carrots moist and weed free. Do not overwater pots. Pull from August to October, 12-16 weeks from sowing. Chose the straightest roots for the show and try to keep length and width as similar as you can. Your show will explain how to present them for judging
EAT: mouth-wateringly good. Remember not to eat the ones you have chosen to show!
