Carrot Marion F1

£0.90 / pack(s)

Super flavoured, sweet, neat cylindrical roots of 15cm or so: an AGM winning variety.  In mild areas these can be grown & harvested for most of the year but for the majority of gardeners they are best sown from April to July with your harvest running up to the end of November.  Price for 150 seeds.

SOW: 10mm deep from April to July (dig the soil well first & sow sparingly to avoid the need for too much thinning).  Sowing after late June can help avoid carrot fly trouble.  In mild areas with protection Marion can be sown in February/March and October/November (& overwintered)

GROW: keep moist and weed free – they don’t like the competition.  Marion can be harvested between 12&20 weeks from sowing (a little longer at cooler times of the year when sown early or late).

EAT: tender with a super sweet flavour fresh from the garden.  And if you can’t eat all your crop fresh then freezing is easy– simply slice or dice larger carrots, put them into meal sized portions (cook from frozen)
