Much sought after for its delicious flavour this heirloom variety, originating from Doubs in France, has long, thin, tapered yellow roots. It needs about 10 weeks growing time, and after harvest it keeps well. Price for 150 seeds.

SOW:  at no more than 10mm deep from March to early July, but early spring before mid-March or late June/July can avoid the worst of the carrot fly.  For early sowings warm the soil with the cloches before sowing.  Remember to dig the soil thoroughly & sow sparingly to avoid the need for too much thinning.

GROW: allow about 10 weeks before pulling.  Keep moist and weed free – they don’t like the competition.

EAT: enjoy the flavour when pulled fresh from the garden.  They can be stored in a poly bag in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.  These carrots also freeze well.
