With a light taste of lemon and spinach, add a few chopped leaves to add flavour to salad or cook them. The lemon flavour comes from oxalic acid (reduced by cooking) so best not eaten in large amounts: they can be picked from very early in the year through to the early winter! Good for helping wildlife in your garden. Perennial Price for 100 seeds
SOW in spring, prick out seedlings into pots and plant out when well grown
GROW: space at 30-50cm apart. Happy in full or part sun and any soil type, generally trouble free, keep weeded and mulch with compost annually to maximise leaf growth. Leaf clumps can be 30-60cm tall whilst the summer flowers will shoot up much higher. Watch out for slugs and snails and cut back in late spring for a new flush of young leaves leaving a few plants to flower.
