Green Shell is an excellent edamame variety, very reliable on a regular basis under normal UK conditions. The smallish pods can be picked whole, cooked, then pop out the tasty beans to eat. The nutty flavour is lovely as a side, in a salad, in stew or just as a snack. Succession planting between late April and June will give you a continual supply all Summer long.
