Velouette has the most fabulous large blooms from pure deep red to petals with varying stripes of bright white to give a dynamic display: simply stunning as a drift of colour. If picked as the buds are about to bloom they will last 7-10 days in a vase. In the garden they are loved by bees and butterflies too.

SOW: in late March to May in trays & barely cover with compost. Place in a warm position and keep at a temperature of between 20-25°C Transplant to small pots at the 2-leaf stage and grow on. Harden off and plant out at from mid-May into June. You can sow direct outside in May & June
GROW: for drifts space 20-30cm apart in a sunny position. For bushier plants pinch out the tips when 15-20cm tall. Water until established. Deadhead regularly, they may need staking.
