Delicious deep ruby-red cabbage with solid tight hearts. We love these sliced and steamed. From one sowing your cabbages will be ready pretty much at the same time however they hold well in the ground and store well plus you can always stagger your sowing between February and April. Price for 20 seeds.
SOW & GROW: between February and April (early sowings with protection). Start the seeds (10-15mm deep) in modules or pots and, when large enough to handle (after 6-8 weeks) harden off and plant out at least 40cm apart.
Stagger your sowing times to spread out your harvest as from one sowing your cabbages will be ready pretty much at the same time (20 weeks) however they hold well in the ground and store well.
EAT: you can have these raw in salads but we are very partial to them sliced (or chopped) and then steamed for about 10 minutes: the flavour is gorgeous and the colour is fab too
