SOW: in June and July for harvesting in October & November. We start all our cauliflowers in pots or modules, seed 15mm deep, as this helps them develop a good root system. Transplant after about 5/6 weeks.
GROW: these like a deeply dug soil, space them 30-40cm apart and firm them in well. All cauliflowers like a fertile soil but fresh manure will make them grow leaves not curds! Regular watering is essential; cauliflowers do not like to get dry. Cut the curds when they are tight and firm – don’t leave them on the plant too long.
EAT: enjoy the tight curds fresh or you can freeze your harvest. To Freeze – separate into even sized florets, blanch for 3 minutes, plunge into cold water, drain and pack into portions.
