Carrot Hurcules F1

£0.90

If you have rocky soil or clay, then this cone shaped carrot might be your answer as it thrives where other varieties might struggle. Well flavoured & strong growing (it is called Hercules after all) for summer and autumn harvesting Price for 150 seeds

SOW:  at no more than 10mm deep from March to July, but early spring before mid-March or in July can help avoid carrot fly.  For early sowings warm the soil with the cloches before sowing or wait for warmer weather.  Remember to dig the soil thoroughly.   Sow sparingly to avoid the need for too much thinning.

GROW: start pulling after just 9-10 weeks.  Keep moist and weed free – they don’t like the competition.  Hercules will grow to about 15cm or so long.

EAT: enjoy the flavour when pulled fresh.  Freeze: slice/dice larger carrots, freeze baby carrots whole, blanch for 3 minutes, plunge in cold water, drain and pack into potions.
