Samson is a super late season variety allowing you to harvest in October and November, a perfect choice to combine with an earlier variety such as Green Sprouting to take your calabrese crop throughout the season. Price for 20 seeds
SOW: in May/June at 10mm deep. We like to start them in pots and plant out at the 2/3 leaf size.
GROW: becoming thirsty upsets them so don’t let them dry out. Cut the bluish-green head before the flowers open, and it will then produce smaller side shoots that are also for harvesting. Picking regularly will encourage more shoots. Samson can be harvested in October and November.
EAT: we like to lightly steam our calabrese and enjoy it fresh but it can also be frozen. To Freeze – blanch for 2 minutes, plunge into cold water, drain and pack.
