Calabrese Blue Wind F1

£0.90

Taking about 8-9 weeks from sowing to harvest makes Blue Wind a speedy calabrese to fall in love with. The head is medium sized, blue-green (hence the name) with a fine flavour. Price for 20 seeds

SOW: Blue Wind has an unusually wide sowing season from March to August for cropping in as little as 8-9 weeks, it is very suitable for successional sowing to spread out your harvest, just sow at 2 week intervals. They are fine to be started in pots (seed depth 10mm) for planting out at the 2/3 leaf stage.

GROW: Space your plants at 25-30cm apart. Calabrese like to grow steadily and do need watering in dry weather. Cut the head before the flowers open (keep an eye on them from 2 months after sowing, later plants will take a little longer as the weather cools).

EAT: We like to lightly steam our calabrese until it is just tender and enjoy the flavour fresh but they can also be frozen. To Freeze – blanch for 2 minutes, plunge into cold water, drain and pack.
