Bean French Dwarf Slenderette, naturally nurtured seed

£1.30

DWARF FRENCH BEAN SLENDERETTE ~ long slim dark green pods with an outstanding flavour. This variety is very productive over the season. It also benefits from good disease resistance. 50 seeds SOW: start these off in pots or modules placed in an unheated greenhouse or even on a window during April or May. You can sow directly into the soil but wait until mid June or warm the ground with cloches as they really do not like cold soil. Two sowings at 3-4 weeks apart will stretch out your harvest. You can sow French beans right up to the end of July. GROW: Plant out after hardening off when about 15cm tall after all frost danger has passed. Slenderette, being a dwarf variety, does not require support. French Beans are self pollinating. They cope well with drier summers. EAT: Pick young and cook whole or sliced or leave the pods at the end of the season for drying. The dried beans are super used in winter casseroles. All of our French beans freeze well.
